Story: No story is present in the game. This absence contributes
in creating an experience that outstays its welcome.
Gameplay: Sneezies
controls well, granted there is not any complexity. The player points at the
screen with the Wiimote and releases a pollen-like substance that causes a
chain reaction of sneezing fluff balls. Suffice to say, the game definitely feels
natural on the Wii. The problem is once the chain reaction begins the player
just sits idly watching. For far too much of the game, the player is doing
nothing but watching. Unfortunately, the location the player chooses to begin
the reaction often comes down to just a quick glance and a guess as to where
would be best.
Graphics: The simple cartoon-style graphics are not
very pleasant to look at. While the characters have a very cute design, there
is not enough detail and the game looks almost like a free flash game. Different
backgrounds are present throughout, but once again, they are not detailed and
do not offer an interesting art style.
Audio: The music is enjoyable, and despite some
repetition, it never became tiresome. The sound of the sneezing is very cute and
is the main reason to continue playing. Hearing strings of sneezes erupting
together at one joyful moment is very cool.
Replayability: There are four modes in Sneezies; however, there are really only
two distinct modes as three of them are simply changes in difficulty. The
challenge mode was the most varied and entertaining because it really tests the
ability of the player to get high scores. All 45 levels in the regular mode are
very similar with the only difference being later levels are more difficult.
There just is not enough variation to keep anyone coming back to this game over
any length of time. Online leaderboards are present, but these will not be
enough for anyone to try and better there score because the game is just too
repetitive and noninvolving.
Pros:
- Cute character models
- Controls are smooth and accurate
- Music and sound are enjoyable
Cons:
- Repetitive gameplay
- Different modes do not offer enough variety
- Graphics are not detailed enough
